Nirvana Day Service
10 AM (ET), Sunday, May 31
(Livestream & In Person, Chapel Hill Temple)
On Sotaesan’s nirvana day, we rekindle gratitude by honoring our dharma teachers who continue to guide our path.
Each year, Won Buddhist communities around the world observe the Nirvana Memorial Day of Sotaesan, the Founding Teacher of Won Buddhism. On this day, we pause to reflect on the meaning of nirvana. We honor the spiritual ancestors and teachers who have illuminated the path of liberation. Though they may no longer be with us physically, their vows, teachings, and compassionate guidance continue to shine clearly in our lives.
On this special day, we also reflect on our future transition to nirvana.
