Self-Transformation Day (Sunday 10 AM, August 23)
As seekers and spiritual practitioners, we aspire to free ourselves from a self-serving life. In Won Buddhism, every August, we observe a special annual celebration that reminds us of the selfless path of practice and service.
On Self-Transformation Day, through community meditation and practice, we will reflect on Sotaesan’s grand vision for humanity and learn about the dedication of his first 9 disciples and their prayers for world healing and peace.
We celebrate and honor the sincere commitment of these initial disciples and all those undertaking the path of dharma. During the ceremony, two devoted temple members, Elliott Nelson and Tom Higgins, will share reflections on their spiritual journeys and receive their Dharma names.
We warmly invite you to join us in person at the Chapel Hill Temple or via livestream.
