We are thrilled to offer our winter dharma study course! Come—and become—a master of Won Buddhism’s dharma turtle! When the founding teacher created Won Buddhism’s basic tenets, he placed them in a chart. Looking at the chart, he smiled and said, “This looks like a turtle!” Turtles are auspicious animals in Asian culture, representing peacefulness and longevity.
This in-depth 8-week course will provide an opportunity for you to learn, contemplate, and discuss the teachings of Won Buddhism. You will explore simple and profound philosophies that are applicable to daily life. This course will be beneficial for beginners, but also helpful for those who attended last year and is a good follow-up for those who have taken the Introduction to Won Buddhism class!
A copy of Won Buddhism scripture will be necessary for this class. You may either purchase or borrow a copy. Other class materials will be provided.
Some comments shared from last year:
“This was an excellent class. I am so happy I made the commitment to come each week!”
“Now I can talk about principles and practices with real understanding. Being with others on the path was a great benefit.”
“I felt inspired by what seemed like the moral underpinnings of the teaching. The class inspired hope.”
